Tom grew up in Belfast from a very poor family. He says they had no life and no future – in the mid 80s at the age of 25, he cashed his dole check and braved the world travelling to London where he met a couple of kiwi lads. He couldn’t believe how happy go lucky they were. They introduced him to Pink Floyd, Bob Seagar. This was new for Tom who had only known a war zone. He was brave enough to travel and see many rock bands. He also loved being part of the Glam rock era and was in London during the Rave scene. He travelled to NZ during the Gulf war and found himself staying put, getting married and living on Great Barrier for 10 years now – He is a semipro golfer and a semi-retired flooring contractor.
