Aotea Community Radio Trust runs the only radio station on Great Barrier Island, ensuring members of our community are connected with what’s going on. The station is manned largely by a fantastic group of volunteers.

We are an isolated rural community of less than 1200, spread over nearly 300 sq km. We transmit on 94.6, 104 and 107 FM to ensure as many islanders as possible have the opportunity to listen in. We are also accessible to the boaties in the harbours and around the island, meaning information about events and activities, as well as recycling and waste minimisation can be passed on.

Aotea FM is deemed to be a vital service used to impart updates from our Emergency Teams.
We have listeners tuning in from various parts of the world including Ibiza and the UK to name just 2. We also have a good following based in Port Jackson.

We aim to operate seven days a week, linking members of the island community with one another, broadcasting essential community information, and sharing community news.
